Molly Pitcher - First Woman to Serve in US Army
Far too many Americans do not know who Molly Pitcher was and what she did. Even less would be able to tell you that her gravesite is in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Molly's grave is certainly well-marked and includes a statue, cannon, and USA Flag. Quite fitting for the first woman to serve in the USA Army. Molly Pitcher (real name Mary Ludwig) fought on the battlefields during the Revolutionary War and worked in the Artillery Batteries.
